Measure
Measures distance (in miles) between points. Click on first point and
wait for red dot to appear.Click to next area and wait for line to appear. Continue
to click. Use Erase to get rid of entire line.
Query
Advanced feature. Query is used to find attributes that you know the specific
value for. For instance, finding parcels over 100 a certain size. Query will
allow you to interactively select the attribute you want to work with through
a pull down menu.
Buffer
Designate a buffer zone around the currently selected area (use query,
select poly, or select line to select initial feature).
Erase
Erases current buffers, query, or measure.
Select Polygon
Draw a square/rectangle over multiple features to have them
selected in one pass.
Select Line
Allows you to draw a line or create an irregular polygon to
select features. You can only select from features that the active button
is turned on for. To use the line select, draw a line across the feature(s)
that you want to select. Use "Finish Line and Select" to redraw map with
selected features. To use irregular polygon selection. Click a point and
wait for the red dot and continue to create a polygon with clicks. Use "Close
Polygon" and Select to complete the polygon and select the features.
Hide Overview
Hides small inset map.
View Legend
Makes layer list into map legend. Toggle between layers and legend.
